April 20, 2019 by Hanna Kreuk

As a blogger, you know that you have to figure out how to prioritize your time and space in a way that allows you to write, edit, and publish in the most efficient way possible. To do this, you need an efficient blogging workspace. It may take some experimentation to figure out precisely what variables you need set up in which way, but once you do, you’ll be a writing machine!

As you try a few different things to get your workspace set up, you should regularly return to the basics in the framework of your area. You have to pay specific attention to your desk, your keyboard, and the flow of energy around your workstation. If you balance out those three concepts, you should have no problem getting in the zone whenever you’re ready, and that means you can translate what’s in your mind into something presentable via your computer in no time at all. 3 Tips For Finding The Perfect Place To Live When You Blog From Home

March 18, 2019 by Hanna Kreuk

Working from home can be a great career choice for your life. With a career as a blogger, it’s simple to have your own successful career without ever really having to leave your home in order to get your work done. However, to maintain your work-life balance and your productivity, it’s important that you’re able to find a home in the perfect neighborhood of a city that you love to work in. So to help you in finding this exact match for you, here are three tips for finding the perfect place for you to live when you blog from home.

Pick A Home With Office Space

Since you’ll likely be spending the majority of your time as a blogger within your own home and working in your own office space, it’s important that you’re able to have an area that you can devote to this work. According to Lisa Evans, a contributor to Fast Company, it can be very helpful to have a space that’s completely separate from your living space where you can focus entirely on your work. When you blur the lines between these two areas, it can feel like you’re never quite ready to sit down and get to work in addition to never being able to get away from your work. But by finding a home that has extra space available for you to make into your ideal home office space, it will make blogging from home much easier on you and on your family. Content Doesn’t Matter Without Links: Insights For Bloggers

March 5, 2019 by Hanna Kreuk

Content marketing is a central tool for bloggers and small businesses; what you write needs to make an impact if you’re going to succeed. Still, it’s not enough to just keep creating more content. To gain attention in a crowded marketplace, bloggers need to promote themselves via social media, employ digital advertisements, and, perhaps most importantly, build backlinks. Strong backlinks are key to building your site’s reputation, and you have to develop them the right way to accrue all the benefits.

Quality Meets Connections

One of the major changes to content marketing in recent years is that you can’t just generate a lot of content. Shorter, but higher quality posts with a lot of information tend to fare better under Google’s current algorithms. And one way to pack more value into a shorter post is by linking content to other website’s content. That’s what backlinks do – but they require you to work in collaboration with other websites. The 8 Things You Need to Become an Influencer in Blogging

February 8, 2019 by Hanna Kreuk

Everyone wants to be a blogging influencer. Being an influencer means people respect you as a thought leader, they read and trust what you have to say, and you have a competitive advantage over practically everyone else in your industry. It’s helpful regardless of whether you’re running a business, developing a personal brand, or are just interested in getting a message to the public.

It’s obviously not possible to become an influencer overnight, nor is it possible to become an influencer through blogging alone. You’ll need several things to be successful, and while they may be difficult to acquire, they’re certainly accessible.

h2>What You Need

You’ll need to meet at least these conditions to be successful as a blogging influencer:

1. A solid internet connection (and a good place to work). You won’t make much progress unless you have a solid internet connection and a reliable place to do your work. You’ll need to produce lots of content and engage with your online audience regularly, so it pays to have a strong, dedicated workspace. Compare the existing internet providers in your area, and choose a plan that’s both fast and reliable, then set up a workspace — either a home office with a desk and sufficient private space or a coworking space available to the public.

2. A personal brand.

You’ll also need to have a personal brand. While your blog is the center point of your strategy and arguably the element that will get the most attention, it’s your personal brand that will make you an influencer. Take the time to develop your personal brand the same way you would a corporate brand, noting key elements of your identity that would appeal to your target audience, and finding a tone that works.

3. A niche with minimal competition (to start).

While it’s possible to run a successful blog in a general category, it’s much easier to choose a specific niche and develop from there. Ideally, that niche will be specific enough to strongly appeal to a small target demographic, and unique enough that it doesn’t have much competition. Again, it’s going to take some time to find the best approach here.

4. An initial bank of content.

When people visit your blog for the first time, they’ll look at your archives to see what type of content you’ve created in the past. If you only have a few posts, people won’t stick around for long enough to get a feel for your brand (or pass any value to you). Therefore, it’s in your best interest to produce an initial bank of content—ideally dozens of articles that show off your personal brand and what you’re capable of writing.

5. A strategy for growth.

You’ll need to grow your presence over time, but there are multiple viable strategies to secure that growth. What’s important isn’t which strategies you use, but rather how you choose them. Different brands will benefit from different types of marketing and advertising, so create a growth strategy that suits you, and develop it from there.

6. A social media presence.

Even if social media isn’t your primary strategy for securing growth, it’s important to have a social media presence for your personal brand. Create accounts for yourself on Facebook, Twitter, and other major platforms, then use them regularly to share your latest posts, make comments about your industry, and cultivate a stronger community.

7. A commitment to expertise.

Influencers get to where they are because they’re experts in their respective fields. If you want to get to that level, you need to have a commitment to expertise. That means spending ample time researching all your topics, including sufficient detail in all your articles, presenting your opinion when called for, and treating other opinions with respect. If you’re relatively new to the field, fake it ‘til you make it.

8. Ongoing community engagement.

You won’t be an influencer until you have a thriving community of followers, but to build that community, you have to engage with those followers and encourage them to keep following you. That means answering questions, replying to comments, and connecting on social media.

Research and Adjustment

You won’t nail your strategy right out of the gates, so it’s important to temper your expectations. The best way to approach your blogging strategy is to start with the basics and work to refine your strategy from there. Pay attention to which types of content your audience wants to see, and which ones don’t attract much interest. Do your research, pay attention to your competition, and most importantly, prepare to make lots of changes to your image, your content, and your community along the way.

3 Tips for Writing More Useful Content

November 14, 2017 by Hanna Kreuk

If you run an online business, one thing that can set you apart from your competition is the content you’re able to create. If you don’t already have a blog that you’re updating regularly, now is the perfect time to start. Although content marketing is a long-term marketing strategy, it has the potential to bring you a lot of success. However, you have to actually be contributing something worthwhile to the conversation to have your content be noteworthy. So to help you reach this goal, here are three tips for writing more useful content for your readers.

Know Your Specific Audience

Just like with other forms of marketing, you’ll actually find more success as you hone in on the specific group that you’re trying to target. While you might think that a general, generic piece of content would resonate with more people, a pinpointed piece of content will hit that small group of people much harder. To help with this, William Morrow, a contributor to the Huffington Post, recommends thinking about the specific people you want to target and then having your content address specific concerns they might have. For example, if you’re in the housing industry and want to target people actively trying to sell their home, you may want to write a detailed piece of content about appraisals and how they work.
